 Wattbike training session

I've been asked to post this:

Nigel Mayglothling at Nottingham University has very kindly offered all TFN members the chance to use the 11 Watt bikes www.wattbike.com they have at the Jubilee campus FREE of charge for the first Wednesday night.

The first session will be on the 4th February from 8 - 10pm, this session will be more of a taster session and a chance to see if we want to do race nights etc.

Could be good for anyone that wants to get into biking/ doesn't have a turbo/ finds turboing deathly dull etc.
The wattbikes are pretty good and give you all sorts of data about pedal efficiency etc.

Any takers?

I'd be interested in this too. Can't make the 4th but would definitely be interested in any future sessions.

Thanks

Can you put me and Owen down to go. Is it ok to go to track first and be a bit late?

Great some of you can make it on Wednesday and no worries on being late.

The Uni has 11 bikes for us to use and they are also looking at doing race nights and working with local cycling and tri clubs.

Any questions call me on 07720 840898

I am interested if it is not too late..

Do we have to book in or just turn up?

Where abouts on Jubilee Campus is it?

Have the bikes got pedals that take cleats.. If so what type?

Cheers

I think we can just turn up - I'm going over after track so will be late.

It's at Jubilee Sports Centre (Nottingham University), Triumph Road, Nottingham.

The pedals are pretty standard spds with toe clips on the other side. I think my mountain bike shoes fitted on them so they're the same as you find on an average Spin bike.
If you want to bring your own pedals, I'm assured they're easy to change.

They also have hr monitors fitted so if you've got a polar strap bring it along for extra data.
The bikes are all hooked up to computers so you techno-geeks should be in your element!

Tonight is just a have-a-go session so they can guage interest in race nights, training etc.

See you there :-)
